HANDCRAFTED USING COPPER STILLS FROM 1921
Elyx Vodka is manually and continuously distilled in a vintage copper still dating back to 1921. This process is essential to the creation of Elyx Vodka, leveraging the exceptional natural purifying properties of copper to impart our award-winning Super Premium Vodka with its distinct character and silky texture.
First Distillation Stage
In the initial distillation, thousands of sacrificial copper packets are added to maximize contact between the spirit and purifying copper. These packets react with and remove unwanted sulfur compounds through copper catalyzation. The copper is termed “sacrificial” because the packets are used only once before being replaced, a practice unique to Elyx Vodka.
Second Distillation Stage
The second stage, known as rectification, further refines the raw spirit using our copper column still. Every part of this still, from the columns to the pumps and hand-forged pipes, is made of copper, harnessing its exceptional purifying qualities.
This meticulous, distillation process ensures that Elyx achieves its unparalleled purity, distinct character, and silky texture, setting it apart as a truly exceptional Vodka.

THE PRODUCTION OF ELYX VODKA
From the cultivation of our Single Estate Winter Wheat to the milling, fermentation, and the handcrafted copper distillation process, each step, including dilution, filtration, and bottling, is performed with precision and care to create a spirit of unparalleled quality. After all, perfection lies in the details.
Reverse Osmosis for Pristine Purity
The water used in all Vodka production needs to be demineralized to prevent it from turning cloudy. There are different ways to do this but the purer the water, the less processing is required.
The water used in Elyx Vodka undergoes a natural filtration process through chalk limestone bedrock over thousands of years, resulting in exceptional purity and quality.
To ensure our Vodka remains crystal clear, we gently demineralize it using reverse osmosis. This method preserves the water’s original character, allowing its true taste and mouthfeel to shine through.
Sealing and bottling perfection
The final stage of production is the bottling process. Our bottles, crafted by Ardagh Glass in Limmared, Sweden, boast a clear glass design accented with copper details. These details pay homage to the manual copper distillation and the pure taste within.
Attention to detail is paramount throughout the entire production process, from harvesting and distillation to bottling.
Each bottle undergoes a meticulous quality assurance check, and once filled with our super-premium vodka, it is inspected again to ensure it meets the highest standards.
Once bottled, Elyx is ready to be distributed from our little distillery on the waterfront in Åhus, Sweden, to be savored worldwide by connoisseurs of the finest Vodka.

Elyx Vodka is committed to minimizing energy consumption, reducing the environmental impact of our wheat farming, lowering emissions from transportation, and conserving water —because every choice makes a difference.
It’s a Swedish thing
In Sweden, caring for the environment is a way of life, ingrained in us from a young age. From the moment we can walk and talk, we are taught to love and respect our natural surroundings. At kindergarten, we play recycling games and go on field trips to appreciate the flora and fauna around us.
Our connection with the environment goes beyond mere appreciation. We have a word for it: Allemansrätten, which means “every man’s right.” Swedes believe it is every person’s right to experience our country’s natural wonders, and equally, it is every person’s responsibility to protect and preserve them for future generations.
At Elyx Vodka, this deep-rooted environmental consciousness is woven into every aspect of what we do. Environmental considerations shape every stage of our production, from the sowing of seeds to bottling and worldwide distribution. Caring for the environment is not just a duty but a fundamental part of who we are and how we operate.
Water conservation
The pristine water used for Elyx Vodka comes from a single source just a few miles from the distillery, one of the world’s purest aquifers, deep beneath the earth yet right below our feet. To preserve this invaluable resource for tomorrow, we have made water conservation one of our core sustainability goals.
We repurpose a significant portion of the process water, not absorbed in the stillage, for cleaning our fermenters. Additionally, the rainwater runoff from our distillery is collected in a reservoir, which local farmers use to irrigate their crops, reducing reliance on groundwater.
Crucially, none of our process water is returned to the environment untreated. Preserving the purity of our crystal-clear rivers and lakes is vital not only to us but also to the surrounding seas and the world’s oceans into which they flow.
Recycling our by-products
At Elyx Vodka, we transform our by-products into valuable resources. The protein-rich stillage, a by-product from the mash, is used to feed local cows and pigs. Additionally, we capture the carbon dioxide released during fermentation and supply it to soft drink companies.
Our production process is carbon neutral, ensuring that nothing goes to waste and every by-product serves a purpose. For instance, we recycle energy generated during distillation by recompressing steam for reuse, achieving significant energy savings.
Furthermore, we invest in sustainable electricity, sourcing a premium mix of hydro and wind-generated green power. This commitment to sustainability ensures that our operations are both environmentally responsible and economically efficient.
Shared Responsibility
We encourage our partners to minimize their environmental footprint. For instance, 40% of every Elyx Vodka bottle is made from recycled glass, and our cardboard and plastic packaging are also recycled.
